The Rolling Mills Operating Committee (RMOC) was formed in 1975 to discuss problems faced in the primary mill area. With advent of newer mills in flat and long product areas and commissioning of cold rolling facilities in the country, the RMOC widened its wings in these areas as well. The RMOC discusses broadly the following aspects:
Members from all SAIL plants and units, viz., ASP, BSP, BSL, DSP, IISCO, RSP, VISL, CET & RDCIS, along with RINL, TISCO and JVSL participate in the meeting. RDCIS is the co-ordinating or nodal agency for the RMOC meeting. The meeting is usually held once a year and relevant topics related to flat and long products are alternatively discussed. During the course of discussions in the meetings recommendations are prepared. These recommendations are basically short-term measures related to improvement of operating indices and maintenance practices, which can be readily implemented by the plants. Over the years plants have benefited by horizontal transfer of good practices of another plant. For further queries or suggestions you can mail to any of the following address: |
